The only Episode Ever

After the one-hit-wonder of the podcast “Beer with the Boys” an executive decision was made to end the podcast, insert sad face. The podcast had planned to open the same every time, a review of beer with a friend, and then an interview of what that guest is involved in. For this episode, we discussed the Student Planning Committee (SPC). After discussion with our executive committee, it was best determined to ditch the podcast campaign due to the branding that would be associated for “Beer with the Boys” was not good for its two hosts for the show. This brand associated us with drinking and through a forecast of a focus group showed signs of the audience believing we were alcoholics, rather than enthusiast assisting in taste testing for the local buyer. The show was also attempting to shine a light on organizations who did a lot of behind the scenes work at Ohio Northern in providing students with experiences that are under-appreciated. The focus was to keep the podcast fun by including tasting different beers, and keeping it interesting for anyone who may be looking for something new to try, whether that be an activity, or in this case a drink.

    It is sad to hear that your podcast came to an end in such a tragic manner. Some people don't know how to just enjoy something without making judgments. Personally, I would have liked to see the show go on. However, I understand that executive decisions that must be made behind the scenes. Best of luck for the future.

Thanksgiving is Christmas' Shadow

With the holiday season quickly approaching it appears that Thanksgiving always gets the short end of the stick. With Christmas and the entire season of Winter, this holiday tends to be forgotten. Stores like Walmart, Target, Meijer, Hobby Lobby, Kroger put up Christmas decorations directly after Halloween. Fall decorations disappear after October 31, and immediately winter decorations get placed out. These decorations usually consist of Christmas trees, lights, nativity scenes, snowmen, snowflakes. All the colors change from bright reds, yellows, oranges, transitions to reds and greens . This gives Thanksgiving a very short period, specifically three days. The rule in my family has always been Thanksgiving before Christmas, in the house the Christmas season does not begin until Black Friday shopping begins. Welcome to the more random posts on my blog. These uploads can range from new music finds that I think the readers should listen to through items that are just absolutely random.
