Capstone update Part 1

Well it's been a minute. Capstone has officially engulfed my life. Today my capstone group presented our initial presentation for our client. My group is working with the Darke County Visitors Bureau and looking for trends as to why the county is experiencing a decrease in overnight stays. This project has my group looking into all sorts of analytics from pings the county receives a day, to the specific businesses have within the county. This allows us to notice what is trending throughout the county, and what may be more likely to receive searches. Other research that I personally have done includes sifting through pages of data involving the lodging tax, or what is called a bed tax. A bed tax is when someone stays overnight within a specific county. This tax is added to the taxes already in play in order to provide revenue through not for profit organizations to assist in promoting the county.
